Do you still track guitars with REAL MICS? Can you hear a difference compared to a modern Impulse Response? With minimal time spent on mic placement and zero time spent on post EQ, I’m sort of convinced that this sounds better than the tone I’m getting with IR’s… Today I pulled out a couple real guitar microphones for the first time in years. I’ve got the 400W Orange HP8 (G12K100) close-mic’d with a @shure SM57 and @sennheiser E906. No post EQ or mixing whatsoever on this, just a quick test. Rif
