Land Between the Lakes wildland firefighters conducted a 7-acre prescribed burn around the Administration Building earlier this week. Although small in size, this burn will improve forest health and help protect nearby infrastructure from wildfires by removing excess brush and woody debris. Our firefighters use prescribed burns to reduce fuel loads, improve wildlife habitat, decrease invasive plant species, and increase the amount of light reaching the ground which benefits native plant growth.
