Guanfacine (intuniv is the brand name for the ER version) a stimulant is often a combination of gold. I typically start kids on guanfacine if they struggle with hyperactivity/impulsivity and strong anxiety. The addition of a stimulant can really help the inattentive piece. Guanfacine also can last all day and help with sleep. Most common side effect of guanfacine is sleepiness that lasts 4 days for most people. I usually like people to start it on weekends or vacations #guanfacine #adhd #adhdmed
