TIGER DAY STARS This is our Matilda IIa, which had a 7.92 mm Besa machine-gun in place of the Matilda II’s 7.7 mm Vickers. It was delivered on 28 May 1941 by North British Locomotive Company, who eventually delivered 564 of the 2,987 Matilda IIs. Today, after a 4 year restoration, our flagship locomotive, the Ivatt tank 41241 was successfully steamed. This was a proud moment for our young overhaul team led by Peter Turner. There is still more work to do and painting to be completed before the Loco is launched at our 50th anniversary gala in June. Huge thanks go out to everyone who has contributed to the Ivatt appeal!
