A blast of winter weather has brought snowfall and subfreezing wind chills across the Midwest and East Coast as well as near-freezing temperatures in parts of the South, including Florida.

Winter Weather advisories are in effect mainly for our eastern Wiregrass counties, as light accumulation up to an inch is possible. Most new models have uptrended, showing the colder air coming in quicker and dropping some snow.
Snow was observed as far South as Florida as temperatures plummeted. New York City could receive up to four inches of snow and up to six inches is possible in Boston.
It will be difficult for wet snow to stick due to the temperatures above freezing and it being daytime. This does not look like a "big storm" for anybody. Instead, more or less just an opportunity to see snowflakes and possibly some light accumulation of snow.
TONIGHT Lake-effect snow, heavy at times, will last through the overnight, most persistent along and west of US-131. Several inches of accumulation are likely. Winds will increase toward daybreak, as low temperatures fall to the lower teens.
Onondaga County expects only 1-2 inches, while areas east of I-81 could see 5 inches of accumulation through Saturday afternoon.
