The first snowfall estimates are out for the winter storm expected to slam the region Sunday, and it’s looking like this could be the Lehigh Valley’s biggest snowfall in years.
The snow fall forecast for Bucks County is 12 to 14 inches over the winter storm hitting the region on Sunday and Monday, the agency posted on January 22. Earlier forecasts, which provided a wider range due to the difficulty of long-range snow forecasting, called for anywhere from six inches to as much as two feet for the Philadelphia region.

The National Weather Service is predicting 8-12 inches of snow, and perhaps up to 15 inches, across the Northern Shenandoah Valley from a winter storm this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service at State College, heavy snowfall with significant accumulations is possible.
Central Massachusetts, and most of Southern New England, is under a winter storm watch from 7 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25. Travel is expected to be difficult from Sunday afternoon to Monday morning with roads – especially bridges and overpasses – likely to be slick and hazardous.
According to the National Weather Service, the area should expect a significant snowfall this weekend, with the potential for 8-12 inches across most of southwest Pennsylvania.
