Xcel Energy likely to shut off power this week due to fire danger in Colorado

Xcel Energy, the major electricity provider across Colorado, said it is considering shutting off power again this week as wind and dry conditions make for high fire risk in northern Colorado. The company announced Wednesday that it is monitoring conditions and preparing to activate enhanced powerline safety settings and possibly a Public Safety Power Shutoff for areas in Larimer and Weld Counties on Friday.
