Layoffs have hit companies including Amazon, Pinterest, and T-Mobile this year as AI and economic conditions reshape the business landscape.
Pinterest said Tuesday it plans to lay off less than 15% of its workforce and cut back on office space as the company embraces artificial intelligence. In a securities filing, Pinterest said it expects the cuts will be complete by the end of its third quarter in late September. Shares of Pinterest closed down more than 9%.

The Home Depot is laying off around 800 employees who work at its Atlanta support center, with the company calling the move a "difficult decision."
Respondents to the GDC survey also report difficulty in finding new employment following a layoff. Nearly half—48%—of games workers who reported being laid off said they haven't been able to secure another job. Of those who were laid off one to two years ago, 36% say they haven't found other games industry employment.
