Texans assistant GM James Liipfert gets second interview with Falcons
A Nick Caserio protege could be taking over as the general manager in the NFC South in 2026.
The Atlanta Falcons are reportedly bringing back Chicago Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham for a second interview.
According to a report from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Atlanta Falcons are set to interview former Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce sometime this week. Pierce also interviewed with the New York Giants last week. According to Garafolo, Pierce will meet in person with Matt Ryan and the Falcons brass.
With Ryan in charge of football matters, the Falcons’ GM job is regarded as a secondary position. That means the Steelers could have blocked Weidl from interviewing with Atlanta, but they’ll instead allow him to discuss the position with Ryan & Co.
