The impending arrival of a major winter storm has much of the U.S. playing the waiting game – waiting for snow, ice, frigid temperatures and possible power outages.

Residents in the Houston area are waking up to freezing temperatures on Monday morning as an extreme cold warning remains in effect for the entire area.

But the network quickly and wisely abandoned it as the execution caused more problems then it solved.
