California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office said Tuesday that he was denied entry into a scheduled appearance at USA House in Davos on Jan. 21, despite being invited to speak at the World Economic Forum.

According to POLITICO and Newsom’s own press office, the snub came “under pressure from the White House and State Department.”
