Earlier this week DirecTV made a new offering to its customers without so much as an announcement. The pay TV service folded in five new channels to the streaming lineup, but only for some subscribers.

Having recently added a number of genre-specific Genre Packs, there are now even more package options. MySports, MyEntertainment, MyNews, and MiEspañol are all more affordable alternatives to larger packages for those who want a more targeted set of channels to meet their specific interests.

DirecTV is now its own company again after AT&T closed the deal with private equity firm TPG, which it first announced back in February. Under their agreement, TPG would own 30 percent of the spinoff, while the mobile giant will retain a 70 percent ownership.

The ruling reinstates suit against Nexstar, Mission Broadcasting and White Knight that had been dismissed by U.S. District Court in Manhattan

DirecTV LLC won its appeal to reinstate a lawsuit accusing Nexstar Media Group Inc. of manipulating fees paid by satellite providers to carry popular programs, after the Second Circuit reversed a ruling that the company lacked antitrust standing.

In DirecTV’s initial complaint, the satellite company claims Nexstar and other TV station distributors colluded to drive up fees.
