Cuba has confirmed it is in contact with the United States, but a senior diplomat said the exchanges remain limited and have not yet turned into formal talks, even as tensions between the two countries rise.

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum says she plans to send humanitarian aid to Cuba this week, including food and other supplies. Sheinbaum’s comments come after U.S.

In Venezuela, Russian-made air defenses failed to repel the U.S. raid that captured strongman president Nicolás Maduro.
